What We Do
The Angel-Paws cause...
We take in animals from across North Queensland and work with vets and foster carers to bring them to full health before finding them a new home. Following advice from our veterinary team, we ensure that every animal who leaves our care is vet-checked, parasite treated, microchipped, and desexed as appropriate.
Angel-Paws also works with other charitable organisations such as the Red Cross to assist those in the community who are experiencing crisis. Whether this is as a result of homelessness, hospital stays, domestic violence, or severe weather events, Angel-Paws helps to house much loved family pets until their owners are back on their feet again.
"Angel-Paws is a Townsville-based charity that provides abandoned and rejected animals a second chance at life. Our focus remains on promoting ways to reduce owner-less pets." - AngelPaws
Angel-Paws Story

Our Past
Angel-Paws was registered as an incorporated entity in October 2014, and became a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status in March 2015. Since then, Angel-Paws has rehomed over 7'000 animals.
As demand increased, a permanent home base became necessary. After leasing a former veterinary clinic, Angel-Paws—supported by the community—purchased a former boarding kennel facility at 156 Southwood Road, Stuart.
Our Present
Angel-Paws is supported by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers working together to care for animals and find them suitable homes. At the Southwood Road facility, rescued animals are housed while undergoing health checks and assessments before moving into foster care.
We operate an internal veterinary clinic and continue working with partner vet clinics for additional care. The site also includes The Cattery by Angel-Paws, a public boarding facility that helps fund ongoing operations.
Our Future
Angel-Paws will continue working within the community to raise awareness about animals in need and responsible pet ownership. These efforts aim to reduce the number of abandoned and unwanted animals.
We also aim to work with local and state governments to introduce legislation supporting mandatory desexing.

The reach of the Paw
Angel-Paws Dog & Cat Rescue is based in Townsville, North Queensland, however we take in animals from as far north as Cairns, west to Charters Towers, and south to Bowen. We also assist animals in the numerous coastal communities in this area, including Palm Island. Our angels have travelled all across Australia, including as far as Perth and Hobart to their new forever homes.
